Artist Statement

As an artist I am inspired by the forms, shapes and colors the Sonoran desert offers. The visual material that makes my immediate environment unique, the distinct and often whimsical flora and fauna of the Sonoran desert, kindle my imagination. My ceramic and fiber works are informed and inspired by my Arizona experiences intermingling with my Irish/Celtic background. I am keenly interested in local materials as they relate to native environments and my work is motivated by the people whose lives and mythologies are intertwined with the natural environment.
