1988 Director, Surviving Visions: The Art of Iri Maruki and Toshi Maruki Exhibition, symposium, catalogue, and educational outreach centered on the relation of

artists to social concern.

 

1985 Curator/Coordinator, Unforgettable Fire: Drawings from Hiroshima Exhibition, symposium, educational outreach. This was centered on the first U.S. showing of

100 drawings by survivors from the collection of the Hiroshima Peace Foundation,

and held on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the dropping of the

atomic bomb at Hiroshima.

1985-1989 Co-organizer, Graduate Student Exchange: Instituto Superior de Arte, Havana, Cuba and the Massachusetts College of Art. Conceived and organized the first exchange of students between Cuba and the United States since 1959.

1984 Curator, "The Art of Jacob Lawrence" Major exhibition of Lawrence's prints and drawings. Symposium on #0099ff artists of the thirties and forties.

1984 Curator (in collaboration with Oxfam America), "Guatemala, A Photographic Portrait" Recent photographs of the condition of peasants in the war torn

countryside of Guatemala.
