"Since I am primarily a contemporary landscape artist, I use the forms of nature to create some kind of dance between the natural world and my abstraction of it. Telluride is an incredibly dramatic place to live and study majestic mountain ranges and their contrast with the low plateaus and canyons.

My emotions come out in the colors that I use as well as in the emphasis that I give with different uses of lights and darks. Whether I'm working in acrylics or watercolors, my goal is more than just a snapshot of nice scenery; it's my interpretation of the mystery and awe of nature."
